SUNYANI WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY WINS BEST AUDIT COMMITTEE AWARD

The Sunyani West Municipal Assembly has been adjudged the Best Audit Committee, MMDA category by the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) for the 2022/2023 Auditing Year during its 2023 Annual Internal Audit Conference which was held from 14th to 15th September 2023 at the University of Professional Studies, Accra under the theme ‘20 Years of Internal Audit Practice in Ghana: Achievements, Challenges and Way Forward’.
The award was conferred to the Assembly due to its constant pursuit of good corporate governance practice at the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly which meets the purpose and intent of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016(Act921), Timely implementation of audit recommendations and provide effective support and mentorship to the Internal Audit Unit.
Presenting the award to Management of the Assembly, Mr. Seth Wontumi Amoah, the Acting Chairman of the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly Audit Committee applauded Management and the Committee members for working diligently towards this achievement.
He expressed his excitement and charged members of the committee and management not to relent on their toes.
Receiving the award, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Evans Kusi Boadum expressed gratitude to members of the committee for putting in much efforts to uphold integrity in the management of public funds.
He implores on the committee to continue with its good works to rake in more honors for the Assembly.
