DEVELOPMENT PLANNING UNIT
Development Planning is one of the units under the Central Administration Department. It derived its functions from
- Local Governance ACT 2016 (ACT 936)
- The National Development Planning (System) ACT 1994 (ACT 480) and
- The National Development Planning Commission ACT 1994 (ACT 479)
- National Development Planning (System) Regulations, 2016 (LI 2232)
Objectives of the Development Planning Class
- Lead in strategic planning, efficient integration and implementation of public policies and programmes to achieve sustainable economic growth and development;
- Efficiently administer the resources of the class and supervise the staff.
- Ensure that field activities are efficiently performed to produce the desired output.
Key Functions
- Development Planning: Preparing and implementing development plans for the Municipality
- Coordination: coordinating development activities among various stakeholders, including Government Agencies, NGOs and Community leaders
- Resources Mobilization: identifying and mobilising resources to support development initiatives
- Community Engagement: Engaging with local communities to identify needs, priorities, and solutions.

- Quarterly and Annual Progress Report
- National Anti-Corruption Action Plan
- Work Plans (Project Implementation)
- Organization of Quarterly MPCU and Plan Review Meetings
- Organization of Development Planning Sub-Committee Meetings.
- Organization of Quarterly field Monitoring of Development Projects and Programs
- Response to RCC, MLGCRA, and NDPC correspondence, etc.
