On 16th October, 2024, the Office of the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly commenced its edition of the 2024 Nationwide Orientation and Training for Assembly Members at the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly Conference Hall.
In the welcome address of Hon. Evans Kusi Boadum, he appreciated Hon. Assembly Members for honouring the invitation for the training programme. He admonished old Hon. Assembly Members not to exhibit any form of complacency for knowing what they were about to be taught. He again encouraged all Hon. Assembly Members to go back to their various electoral areas to implement and impart to their community members whatever they would learn.
Among topics that Hon. Assembly Members were taken through by the facilitators;
- Ghana’s decentralization policy and the local governance system,
- The District Assembly as a System and the Specific Roles and Responsibilities of Assembly Members,
- Local Government and Administrative Laws,
4. Overview of the Model Standing Orders, and
- Local Revenue Mobilization, LED and Job Creation.
