SUNYANI WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY HOLDS SECOND ORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING FOR 2025

The Sunyani West Municipal Assembly convened its Second Ordinary General Assembly Meeting for the year 2025 on 30th October 2025 at the Municipal Assembly Hall in Odumase. The meeting was held in fulfillment of the statutory requirements of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), which mandates all Assemblies to hold three ordinary meetings annually.
The session was attended by key stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Kwasi Asante-Boateng (Esq); the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Alhaji Ibrahim Habila; the Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Dognekoh Atta Kwasi Snr; Elected Assembly Members, Government Appointees, Heads of Decentralised Department, and Members of the Young Parliamentarians of the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly.
In his opening address, the Presiding Member, expressed appreciation to members for their cooperation and continued dedication to the Assembly’s work. He extended gratitude for the confidence reposed in him as Presiding Member. He also highlighted the experience he gained at the recent National Conference of Presiding Members.

Addressing the Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive, reaffirmed his responsibility to brief the house on developments within the municipality at each ordinary meeting. His presentation covered key sectors including security, finance, agriculture, health, education, roads, water and sanitation, and the activities of development partners operating within the municipality. He further outlined recommendations from the Executive Committee to guide policy direction and decision-making.
A key item on the agenda was the presentation, discussion, and subsequent approval of the draft 2026 Composite Budget and 2026 Annual Action Plan. These documents outlined the Assembly’s strategic priorities, planned programmes, and resource allocation for the 2026 fiscal year.
The meeting served as an important platform for assessing progress, addressing emerging challenges, and strengthening collaborative efforts towards the socio-economic development of the Sunyani West Municipality.
