Hon. Martin Obeng (MCE, Sunyani West) later this morning visited some registration centers of the Electoral Commission where the new voter’s registration exercise is underway in the Municipality.
At Odumase Methodist JHS where he first visited, he advised the youth who are of voting age to make sure they duly participate in the exercise in order not to be disenfranchised in the coming elections.
He said the voters’ identity cards gives them more power to take active part in the democratic process and discussions in the country.
He entreated them to try as much as possible to learn how to coexist peacefully despite political differences since that is the only way Ghana can deepen its democratic mandate and develop for a better future.
Hon. Martin Obeng continued to the registration centers at St. Peters and Paul R/C School at Odumase where he also briefly addressed the people at the center.
Other centers he visited today were Berlin Top, Zion JHS, R/C Primary and Dumasua Presby JHS all at Fiapre and Dumasua respectively.
He applauded the Electoral Commission officials as well as the leadership of the two major political parties in the areas mentioned above for the high level of professionalism and maturity exhibited since the exercise started earlier today.
