SUNYANI WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY HOLDS ITS SECOND ORDINARY MEETING

On 30th October, 2023, the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly was held at the Assembly Hall.

Among dignitaries who participated in the meeting were Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah (Member of Parliament for Sunyani West Constituency), Hon. Evans Kusi Boadum (MCE for SWMA) and Mr Gordon Domayele ( Co-ordinating Director for SWMA).

Addressing the House, among those key issues Hon. Evans Kusi Boadum addressed were:
1. the District Performance Assessment

Tool (DPAT) which was carried out by a team of consultants from 25th -26th September, 2023; He informed the House that due to the hard work, dedication and commitment of all the Staff, the Assembly scored a provisional mark of 95%.
2. Integrated Rural Development Project Phase Two (IRDP II); He informed the House that the project was designed to improve the living conditions of rural communities by providing access to basic infrastructure and socio-economic services including health and education, and to ensure sustainable increase in income through the provision of micro-credit to the rural impoverished communities.

3. Developmental projects; He informed the House that an amount of ghc 104, 160.00 from the MP’s Common Fund was

released for the pavement of the Dumasua market.

4. roads; according to the MCE, as part of measures to improve upon transportation in the Municipality, the Assembly in collaboration with the Department of Feeder Roads through the support of Central Government reshaped 85.50km feeder roads.

5. Supply of Logistics from the Common Fund Secretariat; the Secretariat supplied several items to the Assembly which included 500 pieces of dual desk. The 500 pieces of dual desk were presented to the Municipal Education Directorate on 4th October, 2023.

Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah remarking on the IMF issue, he informed the House that

the first part of the funds had been released, and the second part would be released in no time to support the economy. He admonished that inflation rate is likely to go down next year, 2024.

He again informed the House that Sunyani West Municipality would be benefiting from US$ 500,000 projects from the Ministry of Local Government.

Before resuming his seat, Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah wet the appetite of all Government Workers by saying that Government Workers are likely to enjoy more than 30% salary increment next year, 2024.
