The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, On Wednesday, 26th October 2022 paid a working visit to the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly as part of his tour in the Bono region.
The visit according to the Minister who also doubles as the Member of Parliament for the Offinso North Constituency was to familiarize himself with how the various programmes and policies rolled out by the government has been implemented by the Sunyani West Assembly for the benefit of the citizenry.
He mentioned that since the MMDAs are drivers of these flagship programmes and policies, it was important for the sector Minister Hon. Dan Botwe and his deputies to tour to tour the various MMDAs to be up to speed with the programmes implemented.
He said programmes such as the Planting for Food and Jobs, (PFJ) One District One Factory, (IDIF), Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD), The Digitization Agenda, Free Senior High School and other policies and programmes have been deliberately implemented to ensure equitable allocation of resources.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Evans Kusi Boadum, commended the Minister For the visit. He said the Assembly is doing its best to help bring development in the Municipality and all government policies and programmes are being implemented for the benefit of the citizenry.
The MCE outlined bad road network and activities of Fulani herdsmen as major challenges facing the Assembly.
Heads of Works Department, Health, Education and Agriculture made power point presentations on their achievements about the government flagship programmes and policies.
The Deputy Minister commended the Assembly for work done so far. He added that the new Administrative Block should have been a 2 store -building. As a result, the Ministry will consider getting additional Office Block for the Assembly.
