PLANTING FOR FOOD AND JOBS PHASE-2.0 DISTRICT DURBAR.

The Sunyani West Municipal edition of the Planting for Food and Jobs Phase-2.0 District Durbar was held at the Assembly Conference Hall on 5th April, 2024.

The occasion was graced by Hon. Evans Kusi Boadum, Mr Gordon Domayele (Co-ordinating Director of the Office of Sunyani West Municipal Assembly) and all Heads of Departments / Units of the Office of the Assembly.

Among Stakeholders who participated in the durbar were Nananomo of the various traditional councils, Aggregators, Media, Agric Officers, Input Dealers, Input Suppliers and Farmers.

The purpose of the durbar was to sensitize the Farmers in particular on how to register for and benefit from the Planting for Food and Jobs phase-2.0 programme.

The Municipal Director of Agric, Sunyani West, Mr Douglas Lebna reiterated that Aggregators have been linked to the Input Dealers to supply all needed crops/seeds/seedlings and/or inputs to Farmers to embark on their farming activities. The Farmers thereby pay for the needed supplied crops/seeds/ seedlings / inputs after harvest.

In the brief address of Hon. Evans Kusi Boadum, he admonished the Farmers to know how to deal with the Fulani Herdsmen and their cattle by protecting their farm produce without landing themselves into trouble.Before resuming his seat, he again admonished the Farmers to go and put to proper use what they have learnt at the durbar to the benefit of the Municipality, Bono Region and the Country at large.
