On 11th March, 2024, in the company of Hon. Evans Kusi Boadum, Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah (Member of Parliament for Sunyani West Constituency) commissioned a 4-Unit Workshop Block at NSOATRE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE, NSOATR.
Among dignitaries who graced the occasion were Hon. Patrick Tabiri (Presiding Member for Sunyani West Municipal Assembly , Madam Beatrice Afia Boatemaa (Head of Works Department, SWMA), Madam Bertha Adu-Koranteng (Deputy Director, SWMA), Mr Emmanuel Darko (Principal of Nsoatre Technical Institute) and Mr. Gabriel Gyamfi (Director of T-VET, Bono Region).The 4-Unit Workshop Block is part of the D-PAT project in the name of the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly.
In the brief address of Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, contemporary, the best gift or legacy a parent could leave behind for his/her child is not just education, but Technical and Vocational Education. Thus, the child who is trained technically and vocationally benefits from two dimensions; the child benefits cognitively (the child gets knowledge) and handiwork. He admitted that T-VET is the best dimension to resolve unemployment issues in Ghana.
Before resuming his seat, Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah gave a cash price of ghc 5,000.00 to Madam Elizabeth Manley Victoria, a first year student who splendidly delivered a speech on behalf of the school.
