THE GREEN GHANA PROJECT HAVE BEEN LAUNCHED BY THE SUNYANI WEST MUNICIPAL ON FRIDAY, JUNE 11, 2021.

As part of Government agenda to plant five million trees a day across the country as an initiative programme under the  Green Ghana Project slated for Friday,June 11,2021 has been launched by Hon.Martin Obeng.Hon Martin planting Akasia and Offram trees at the front of the ungoing Sunyani West Municipal Assembly block with the Aviation office respectively at Adentia near Odumase, the Municipal's Capital. Accompanied by him was Mr Philip Baazeng, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Various departmental Heads and the Regional Youth Authority Head Mrs Bamba Fati graced the function. The Municipal Chief Executive for Sunyani West Hon.Martin Obeng launched the green Ghana Project as part of activities to mark this year's international Day of forest.According to him,a total number of 300 trees are expected to be planted in a single day across the Municipality. Hon.Martin placed an emphasis that the tree planting in Ghana formed part of a strategy to embark on an aggressive afforestation to protect forest and the environment in Ghana. The initiative is a joint responsibility for which more broad-based support is needed to address the adverse degradation of Ghana Forest and ecosystem which is going to help raise National Consciousness of the need to protect the environment. The green Ghana took Hon.Martin Obeng and his Entourage to Fiapre Court,Berlin top,Nsoatre and several towns within the Municipality to plant over 300 tree of acacia and fram. Hon.finally added that his outfit will set up a monitoring and evaluation team to surveil the progress of trees after the planting exceeded. In conclusion,we are planting the trees,nurse, nurture them and monitor in a scientific way and methodical way to ensure that we see the trees to the progress of them. Since the country lacks economic trees which can aid the sustainable development of the country hence the need for all to participate in the agenda
